Alphafriends is a tool to teach letter names and sounds, phonemic awareness, and syllabic blending with friendly alphabet characters.
Each week the kindergarten students are introduce to a new Alphafriend who will teach them about a new letter of the alphabet. Each Alphafriend has his/her own song and video to help the students learn the sound of the letter.

Alphafriends is an already existing brand that is broadly used in the classrooms all over the US. In 2016 HMH, the owner, decided to do a complete re-branding of the product.
I was lucky to be the person in charge of all the visual development around the characters and their videos that are currently in production. For each one of them I created a series of dynamic poses, the secondary characters that were needed as well as the first batch of backgrounds to set the visual style.
Here is a sample of the art work that led to the art direction of the re-branding as well as the video clips for the songs.
